Workers’ compensation, popularly called “work comp” or “workman’s comp,” is a liability insurance for employees or workers who are injured while performing their jobs, either within the premises of the workplace or outside.
Workers’ compensation is created to protect both the employees, and the employers alike. The workers or employees are paid for loss of wages, and medical care costs due to their workplace injury, while the employers can set a cap or certain limits in the amount of compensation to pay the injured worker.
This type of liability insurance is complicated, and must be discussed with a competent lawyer.
